Film Forming Amines
TexxChem offers the latest film forming amine (FFA) technology. FFAs provide corrosion protection by adsorbing onto metal surfaces and creating an ultra-thin, hydrophobic barrier.
This continuous film isolates the metal from water, cutting
off contact with oxygen, mineral salts, and other corrosive
agents. The amine structure allows strong molecular
bonding to metal, which forms a secure attachment to the
surface.
The hydrocarbon “tail” portion of the molecule repels
water and contaminants, reducing corrosion risk and
helping mitigate scale or fouling in the system. The result
is more stable water and steam quality that supports the
reliability of heat transfer surfaces in industrial water and
steam cycles.
FFAs deliver robust performance even during system
upsets, and optimize heat transfer efficiency by keeping
metal surfaces clean and protected.
