PERSISTENT PROTECTION
TexxGuard™ is TexxChem's line of Acid Corrosion Inhibitors (ACI) temperature tiered, film persistent inhibitor concentrates engineered to protect steel tubulars, wireline equipment, downhole tools, surface equipment, boiler surfaces and cooling tower components from acid attack during HCl-based acid treatments. The line spans three products rated from ambient service through 290°F (143°C), giving engineers and distributors a temperature matched inhibitor for a wide range of applications without over specifying product for routine jobs. TexxGuard™ is a standalone additive or designed to complement TexxBoost™, TexxStim™, and TexxSafe™ as part of a complete performance acid program.

THE PROBLEM TexxGuard™ SOLVES
Straight acid corrodes steel and commodity corrosion inhibitors are formulated for performance in standard conditions, not the live-acid environment inside a hot wellbore. At elevated bottomhole temperatures, conventional inhibitors lose film persistence rapidly, leaving tubulars and downhole equipment exposed precisely when acid reactivity is highest.
The consequence of a corrosion failure perforated tubing, pitted wireline cable, damaged packers, compromised tools -- routinely exceeds the entire cost of the acid treatment itself. TexxGuard™ proprietary inhibitor chemistry is engineered for film persistence at rated temperature, so protection holds through the full contact window, not just at the start of the job.
INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION
Industrial descaling with HCl or H₂SO₄ demands protection that holds throughout the entire cleaning cycle — not just at initial acid contact. TexxGuard™ proprietary film-persistent inhibitor chemistry adsorbs to metal surfaces and maintains a continuous protective barrier as acid is consumed, making it well-suited for cooling tower descaling, boiler tube and economizer cleaning, and heat exchanger service where extended contact times and mixed metallurgies carbon steel, galvanized, copper alloy expose the limits of commodity inhibitors. The temperature-tiered HT line matches inhibitor selection to actual service conditions, with API RP 42-validated performance at or below 0.05 lb/ft² on C-1010 and L-80 coupons over six-hour contact times.

150A
ACID SYSTEM
HCl-based acid systems at 5–15% concentration; optimized for ambient-temperature industrial and low-temperature oilfield applications.
APPLICATIONS
Industrial boiler descaling and heat exchanger cleaning. Cooling tower acid treatment and deposit removal. Industrial pipe, vessel, and process equipment descaling. Low-temperature oilfield acid jobs where BHT does not exceed 150°F. Any HCl application requiring rapid inhibitor film formation at ambient to moderate temperatures.
PERFORMANCE
Formulated with propargyl alcohol as a fast-acting co-inhibitor that provides immediate steel surface coverage during the critical early phase of acid contact — eliminating the film formation lag associated with imidazoline-only inhibitor systems. Meets corrosion rate target of ≤0.05 lb/ft² on C-1010 steel coupons at rated temperature and dose.

HT-200
ACID SYSTEM
HCl-based acid systems; designed for compatibility across a range of HCl concentrations including 15% and 28% HCl.
APPLICATIONS
Oilfield workover acid jobs and matrix acidizing on shallow-to-moderate depth wells where BHT is between 150°F and 200°F. Wireline acid jobs at moderate depth where bottomhole static temperature does not exceed 200°F.
PERFORMANCE
Meets API RP 42 corrosion rate target of ≤0.05 lb/ft² on C-1010 and L-80 coupons; contact time up to 6 hours at rated temperature. Formulated with a formic acid thermal film anchor that activates above 150°F to maintain inhibitor film integrity at elevated bottomhole temperatures.

HT-250
ACID SYSTEM

Standard wireline acid jobs in wells with BHT up to 250°F (121°C) -- the most common service range for onshore wireline corrosion inhibition.
Wireline acid jobs at shallow-to-moderate depth where standard inhibitor performance is sufficient.
Ambient-temperature industrial descaling applications where steel protection is required.
